Orange Theory is one of the most effective workouts there is. It is based on the heart rate, so it can be customized to people of all fitness levels, whether they are just starting to get in shape or whether they are a professional athlete. It is done in classes, and each one is different. But what they have in common is tremendous energy, and the result is visible toning and extreme calorie burn. This is what its developers call the “orange effect,” and it is what makes its adherents love it.
The idea or Orange Theory fitness is an intense sixty minute workout that gets you into that magical orange zone, and its excess post-exercise oxygen consumption, or EPOC for short. This keeps you burning calories even after the workout ends, and gives you a noticeable result.
Orange Theory began as a franchise system in Florida and was so successful that word quickly spread, and thousands of people who were looking for some new form of workout and felt they had tried everything else responded with great enthusiasm. There are currently nearly one hundred Orange Theory studies across the United States, and its developers say there are plans for many more.
